Our FMP

What is our FMP?

For our Final Major Project we had to make a music video for a song of our choice. This means we had to find a song of our choice, get permission to use the song and begin to plan the project from start to finish.

We decided to use a song called [Reboot] by a band called Waterparks. They are a pop-punk trio from Texas. Our Director Ray had proposed the song with us as they had been listening to the band for a while.

Project Overview

Music Videos are the most popular videos on Youtube, with the current highest viewed Music Video just surpassing 10 billion views and counting. So, it is essential that you gain experience in this area in order to understand this part of the media industry. The best way for you to learn how to create a successful media project, is by creating your own Music Video for a specific artist.

In your chosen groups you must develop, plan and produce a full Music Video for any artist and song of your choosing. Your music video must be original. You will also create artwork for a single digipak to promote your chosen song.

All your planing, reflections, research and practical skills will be evidenced using an online journal.

Why did you choose these roles?

I went for Camera Operator because it was a role I was interested in and hadn't tried before this project so I wanted to explore the possibilities with the cameras. For graphic designer, I wanted to do something that would be a larger part of the project and I had some ideas for the digipak that I wanted to try out.
