Production
From Pre-Production to Post-Production
Pre-Production
During the pre-production stage I was in charge of the Call Sheets, Contacts & Contributors and Fake & real budget. I made all of these with Google Sheets as while making it I could keep it organised, especially the budgets as I could use some simple code to make the additions do themselves when the numbers are input. It was also helpful because everything was charted too so creating charts was a relatively simple thing to create when you have the formats prepared.
Production
During Production, I had some ideas which changed the original plan but not in any major way as it all consisted of the same locations just different angles, lines and prop positions. This especially showed when we were in the TV studio to record the stage scenes and so we went through with recording the planned stationary scenes and then moved onto an idea I had mad which was moving around Ray with the camera by my knees so I can get an angle similar to being just below a stage. This worked well as it gave the right type of angle but did mean there was some shaking, luckily because we had the live performance audio in the idea we could give the moving of people behind the camera operator as a reason for any shaking.
We also needed some filler footage so because I had booked the camera for longer then needed in case of reshoots, we went into a room we were working in to use the projector. Because this was a normal classroom we couldn't book out, we did have some people walking in and out every now and then but that didn't cause too much of an issue because after tampering with the quality settings for a while I was able to get the camera sorted for the lighting and the projector. We had done the recording with a few different videos and only had a problem with one which was shutter speed. I was not able to match the shutter speed with the video so you can see some bars in the video but that played well and looked like it was edited in so we kept the footage as it was also visually appealing.
Post Production
During the Post-Production stage I did not have a solid idea of what was wanted for the digipak, I had a few ideas which I brought up but they didn't go through too well and I was suggested to get images off of the footage which was not on my device so I used some of the already edited footage that I had access to at the time but couldn't see anything that would fit too well so I had waited a bit longer.
While I was waiting I went ahead and did some research to get their original barcode for their CD, their legal information off of their CD and I made a QR code that can be scanned with your phone to lead you to the original song. I had an idea to make one for the original album and to put the album name on the digipak but that wouldn't make too much sense as only one of the songs was to be on the disk. With the gradients, I was preparing the toy with the colour schemes that we had prepared when I got some images sent to me from footage that was not on my computer, this were the stage scenes and the window scenes. There I got ideas for the gradient, so I added the inside left picture and flipped it so it was facing the inside right and put a gradient so it seemed the gradient was reflecting off of Ray to be causing the light.
While making the product I had nothing properly prepared the for the other shots so I added the gradient to the rest of the covers to have an idea to build off of.
During making this product I had taken some breaks to see how the editing stage was going which was well and I even gave some ideas and support in which was implemented the the final as it made the product seem more interesting.
